Looking at the past winners of the Melbourne Cup in 2010 there are two horses that stand out to win this year.
They have both run their last two races over 2000 meters or more, they are both aged between 4 and 7 years old and have had a race start over the last two week.
Both horses have got consistent form and have won in their last six race starts and have a place percentage of 40% or more in their last 10 starts and lifetime starts.
At their very last start they have raced well and been strong at the end, neither horse is up in weight more than 2.5 kilos from their last run, in fact they both drop weight and are weighted within 8 kilos of the top weight.
Both horses have odds less than 50-1 and the jockey has ridden the horse before.
These are the parameters that the last 10 melbourne cup winners all share and this year the two horses that stand out are the favourite So You Think at $3.1 with Luxbet and Shoot Out at the lucrative odds of $31. Imagine having your free $400 bet from Luxbet on Shoot Out and it got up to win the cup – a $12,000 collect from a free bet which would be a very nice result to say the least.
