2010 Melbourne Cup Jockey Silks

Today an elite field of stayers will take to the Flemington track to contest the highly anticipated 2010 Melbourne Cup, and every jockey in the Cup field will be wearing unique silks.

The Melbourne Cup jockey silks, also known as the racing colours, help punters and racegoers identify the stables or owners of the horses running in the $6 million handicap.

While the jockey silks primarily represent the connections of a horse, the racing colours can also be used for Melbourne Cup betting!

You can find which horses represent the most successful Melbourne Cup owners and trainers in the field from the silks the jockeys wear, while casual punters that like to follow the signs can select a Melbourne Cup horse to back based on their lucky colours!

Below the Races.com.au team have a comprehensive listing, complete with images of the jockey silks and information on the owners, for every horse in the 2010 Melbourne Cup.

If you fancy the checkers So You Think’s jockey Steve Arnold will wear, or your lucky colour is brown so you want to tip Descardo, whatever your bet the best place to have a punt on the Melbourne Cup is online at Luxbet!
