2010 Melbourne Cup Jockeys Confirmed for Favourites So You Think & Shocking

Today Racing Victoria has confirmed the 2010 Melbourne Cup jockeys for a number of the horses set to contest the $6 million handicap at Flemington next Tuesday, including those for the punters’ favourites So You Think and Shocking.

So You Think will wear the Number 1 saddlecloth in the 150th Emirates Melbourne Cup and will have regular rider Steven Arnold aboard.

Second Melbourne Cup favourite in the Melbourne Cup odds, Shocking, will have Michael Rodd in the mount as the Street Cry five-year-old seeks back-to-back Melbourne Cup wins.

In the Number 2 Melbourne Cup saddlecloth will be Caulfield Cup winner Descarado, the Gai Waterhouse-trained stayer set to be ridden by Nash Rawiller.

Other Melbourne Cup jockeys for 2010 that have been booked to ride in the world’s richest handicap include:

  • Glen Boss on international hopeful Illustrious Blue
  • Damien Oliver aboard Manighar before starting his suspension
  • Darren Beadman on Hong Kong’s Mr Medici
  • Jim Cassidy on Gai Waterhouse’s Once Were Wild

Stay tuned for the full 2010 Melbourne Cup field, jockeys and barrier draw published at Races.com.au in about half an hour and in the meantime check out the odds at Luxbet!
