Norman Robinson Stakes Betting Tips – Caulfield Race 4

The first highly anticipated Group race on the Caulfield Cup Day card today is Race 4, the $125,000 Group 3 Norman Robinson Stakes (2000m) due to jump at 1:20pm (AEDST).

The 2010 Norman Robinson Stakes originally drew a field of 13 classy three-year-olds, 12 set to start at this stage due to the earlier scratching of #5 Rekindled Interest who had real claims.

The hot favourite to win the Norman Robinson is #1 Retrieve, at the short quote of $2.25 at

Retrieve is drawn on the rails, is coming off sensational spring form having won the Gloaming Stakes and placed second in the Spring Champion Stakes and has wet track experience making them the team’s clear winner as well.

Caulfield – Race 4 – Norman Robinson Stakes

With the Caulfield track rated a Heavy 10 today, Retrieve’s win over 1500m on a Heavy Sandown track in august gives them good form.

For extra value we recommend getting in on the Trifecta markets and adding Yulalona and Altius in with Retrieve.

Yulalona is in winning form coming off three consecutive victories, the Peter Snowden-trained colt tough and on the rise.

Alitus adds value to Trifectas as well, drawn wider on the rain-affected track giving them space to avoid the mud.

Punters have been wary since their fifth in the UCI Stakes at Flemington where Altius made post-race respiratory noise, but cleared by vets and tipped to improve by trainer Tony Vasil gives confidence.
