Super sprinter Hay List has opened as the hot favourite to win the 2010 Patinack Farm Classic during the Melbourne Cup Carnival following the gelding’s succession of brilliant spring wins.
Premier online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au have installed the John McNair-trained Hay List at a very short quote of $1.50 to win the Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) on Thursday November 6 at Flemington’s Emirates Stakes Day.
Hay List has won four races on the trot this season claiming victory in the Group 3 Healy Stakes (1200m), Group 3 McEwen Stakes (1000m), Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) and most recently the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington last weekend, and is now being earmarked as the best sprinter in Australia.
Other horses high up the ante-post betting markets for the Patinack Farm Classic are Peter Moody’s unbeaten mare Black Caviar ($5), the Grahame Begg-trained Group 1 winner All Silent ($6.50) and star mare Hot Danish ($8).
Les Bridge’s Nothin’ Leica Dane seven-year-old Hot Danish looks a top value pick, the dual Group 1 winner having come back to the track in sizzling form this spring winning both the Premiere Stakes and The Shorts over 1200m.
The 2010 Patinack Farm Classic nominations close on November 1 with the list of horses entered for the showdown published right here.
