2010 Caulfield Cup

The 2010 Caulfield Cup is one of the premier features of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival and is programmed to take place at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday October 15 as the marquee race of Caulfield Cup Day.

Worth a lucrative $2.5million in prize money, the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) is an open handicap event and as such is the key lead-up race to the iconic 2010 Melbourne Cup held at Flemington on Tuesday November 2.

The Caulfield Cup, scheduled as Race 7, is one of 10 quality races held at the meeting with other Group race highlights including the $200,000 Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1100m) and the $180,000 Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m).

The 2010 Caulfield Cup Second Declarations have already been taken with 71 horses still heading towards the spring feature showdown.
