2010 Hill Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw

As part of the action of Rosehill’s Tea Rose Stakes Day this Saturday, a small but top-class field of nine gallopers will take to the track to contest the $175,000 Group 3 Hill Stakes (1900m).

In a very open field of gallopers, Chris Waller will start two six-year-olds from his local stables with Warwick Stakes runner-up Triple Honour and Wyong Cup winner Hawk Island both drawn well in barriers two and three respectively.

The other Hill Stakes runner that has come up trumps in the barriers is Clinton McDonald’s veteran Pacino due to jump from gate one with Tim Clark aboard.

Lots of attention will also be on gate six where John O’Shea’s 2010 Melbourne hopeful Jessicabeel will jump after finishing dead last in the Tramway Quality at Randwick a fortnight ago.

Find out more about the other runners in the field by following the link to a detailed 2010 Hill Stakes Preview.

Scheduled as race five at Rosehill on Saturday, the Hill Stakes will be accompanied by four other Group races.

Other highlights on the racecard are the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) featuring a field of fine fillies including the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Strawberries, the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m), Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) and the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) where barrier one starter Praecido looks the pick.
