Melbourne Cup Day

The 2010 Melbourne Cup Day is the jewel event on the Australian racing calendar and is scheduled to take place at Victoria’s famous Flemington racecourse on Tuesday November 2.

Headlining the esteemed meeting is of course the 2010 Melbourne Cup, the 150th anniversary of the nation’s richest and most loved race worth a record $6 million in prize money and trophies this year.

Racing and fashion go hand in hand on Melbourne Cup Day, with thousands of spectators and punters flocking to the course to celebrate the champion runners, enjoy a glass of champagne, show off their race day outfits and of course get in on the betting action!

Aside from the Emirates Melbourne Cup, where a field of 24 elite stayers will fight to become the next turf great, the VRC has nine other quality races scheduled for Melbourne Cup Day.
