Saturday 11 September Spring Horse Racing

Spring horse racing action continues today with nine TAB race meetings scheduled across the country.

Saturday racing will feature five metropolitan meets, including group racing at Mooney Valley in Melbourne and Rosehill Gardens in Sydney.

Today’s spring racing in Melbourne will be at Moonee Valley with the Tatts Cox Plate Preview Day featuring the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.

At Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse today it is the Myer Mad about the Hat Day featuring the Theo Marks Stakes which has been renamed in 2010 to the Sebring Sprint.

Today Moonee Valley will run 9 races, while Rosehill, Doomben in Brisbane, Morphettville in Adelaide, Belmont in Perth, Kembla Grange in New South Wales and Gold Coast in Queensland will run 8 races. Bairnsdale in Victoria and Toowoomba in Queensland all have 7 races on today’s card. The race meeting scheduled for Tamworth in New South Wales has been postponed until Tuesday 14th September due to heavy rain during the week and forecast for more showers.

Racing will kick off today in Melbourne at Moonee Valley with Race 1 the Spotless Handicap over 1500m jumping at 12:00 (AEST). The last race today will be at Toowoomba with Race 7 running at 20:47 (AEST).

The highlight race today will be the Group 2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley, a lead up race to the 2010 Cox Plate. In the 8 horse field all eyes will be on star gallopers Shoot Out, Whobegotyou, Zipping and Racehorse of the Year Typhoon Tracy.

In the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes our tip is to back Shoot Out for the win from Whobegotyou.

In the Group 3 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley we like the in-form Reward for Effort who had an impressive win in the Group 3 Concorde Stakes at Rosehill two weeks ago.

Get the best odds on all of today’s horse racing at Ladbrokes.com.au. On all metroplitan races you can use CityBest Plus which will pay you the best odds from all 3 TABs or the Starting Price, whichever is better. And if you join now you will receive up to $300 in free bets.

Sportsbet also has some great racing offers on today’s racing including bonuses and money back specials on the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes, the Sebring Sprint and the Stocks Stakes.
