2010 JJ Liston Stakes Preview – Shoot Out, So You Think & Shocking Face Off

This Saturday racing fans and punters are treated to the first star-studded Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival showdown as an elite field of turf champions take to the track at Caulfield in the $200,000 Group 2 JJ Liston Stakes (1400m).

Fifteen horses have been nominated in the KS Environmental JJ Liston Stakes including a number heading towards the feature spring races including the 2010 Cox Plate and 2010 Melbourne Cup.

In this very open field there is sure to be a number of top fancies in the Ladbrokes.com.au markets, making this a tricky race for punters to select their favourites.

Looking at boxing in your top selections into a trifecta bet at Ladbrokes.com.au could prove to be a far more profitable and secure option.

Some of the best JJ Liston Stakes starters include last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Shocking (barrier seven), Cox Plate favourite Shoot Out (barrier 10) and Bart Cummings’ So You Think likely to start as the favourite after drawing ideally with barrier one.

Other top contenders lining up in the Liston this Saturday are the Anthony Cummings-trained Zavite, the Lloyd Williams owned English raider Mourayan and High Chaparral galloper Monaco Consul.

Local trainer Mick Price is bringing back last year’s Liston Stakes champion Predatory Pricer seeking back-to-back success.

Price will also be represented by dual Group 1 winner Heart Of Dreams, the five-year-old due to jump from barrier six with Damien Oliver aboard.

The 2010 JJ Liston Stakes field is a racing purists dream and any punter looking to get an early guide to this spring’s leading contenders will be keeping a close eye on the Liston.

If you want the chance to win more on the JJ Liston this weekend, avoid the TAB and sign up to Ladbrokes.com.au today.

Ladbrokes.com.au have some exciting racing offers open on the group races this weekend, including a super bonus on the Liston Stakes where you could share in an extra $5,000 in cash!
