2010 Tattersall’s Mile Betting Preview

On Saturday Queensland’s Eagle Farm racecourse will be home to the $75,000 Listed Tattersall’s Mile (1600m), which has attracted a quality field of nine starters including Bold Glance and Fifteen Carat.

Currently leading the Ladbrokes.com.au markets at $3 for a win, four-year-old Sequalo gelding Bold Glance is coming off an impressive last start win in the Ascot Handicap (1200m) at the same track and looks the horse to beat on Saturday.

Bold Glance has drawn barrier five in the Mile and will again be ridden by in-form hoop Chris Munce.

Following closely as the $3.40 second-elect at Ladbrokes.com.au is the Howard Wilson-trained Fifteen Carat.

Another last start winner, the talented Show A Heart gelding took out the Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) at the start of the month, before which they ran a gallant third to Rothesay in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m).

In what is sure to be a tight and thrilling showdown, other top runners ready to race in the Tattersall’s Mile include the Paul Messara-trained Silver Spur, local veteran Intertheblack and Zabeel gelding Deacon.

All represent excellent value at longer odds, so check out the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au today.

Meanwhile the feature black-type event in Western Australia will be the $75,000 Listed Beaufine Sprint (1000m) at Belmont Racecourse.

And there will be plenty of attention at Morphettville on Sunday when the South Australian track hosts the $70,000 Listed Dermody Stakes (1050m).

This weekend is the last group race free weekend for the year as the excitement resumes on July 31 with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes, before the Spring Carnival Racing action kicks off in August.
