Betting Odds for Saturday’s 2010 Queensland Cup

Tomorrow Eagle Farm Racecourse will come alive with the prestigious Queensland Cup meeting and leading online bookmaker has seen lots of money come in for the warm favourite in the headline race, the Listed Queensland Cup (3200m), Tinseltown.

Runner-up in last Saturday’s Listed Caloundra Cup (2400m), the Michael Mornoey-trained Tinseltown has drawn wide with the far outside barrier 15, but is still the $2.20 favourite to win through

Representing good value at $12 through is the John Wheeler-trained Court Ruler. The four-year-old Viking Ruler gelding from New Zealand ran a well beaten ninth in the Caloundra Cup, but has drawn ideally with barrier one for the Queensland Cup and the rain around the Sunshine Coast should soften the track to Court Ruler’s liking.

Other top chances for tomorrow include $4.40 second elect Lang, and the in-form More Than Ready gelding Hollywood And Vine paying $7.50 for a win.

Also worth a look for an Each Way bet at is Solid Billing. The $8.50 chance finished fifth in the Caloundra Cup but jockey Eddie Wilkinson has a high opinion of the gelding saying he isconfident Solid Billing, who led by up to six lengths mid-way through the Caloundra Cup before fading, has what it takes to last the 3200m of Saturday’s race.

The horse with the longest odds is Barry Baldwin’s three-year-old filly Carry Me Baby paying $101 through At these generous odds the young filly who secured her first win two starts back could well be worth a Place bet just in case she lifts.

Want to bet on the Caloundra Cup but don’t have a account? There’s still time! It only takes a few minutes to sign up with this great online bookmaker and with new customer’s getting a free $100 bet there is no better time to start betting with!
