2010 Golden Slipper Meeting – George Ryder Stakes Final Field & Preview

It’s Golden Slipper time of year again and this Saturday Sydney’s Rosehill racecourse hosts their most anticipated race meeting of the autumn season headlined by the $3.5million Group 1 Golden Slipper.

A brilliant collection of other feature events are also set to take place at the meeting including the $400, 000 Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m).

The 2010 George Ryder Stakes, sponsored by Hong Kong Asia’s World City, has attracted a final field of 14 top-class gallopers.

One of the highest rated starters in the George Ryder Stakes on Saturday is the Mick Price-trained Heart Of Dreams.

A son of Show A Heart, Heart Of Dreams has drawn ideally with barrier two and looks well positioned to claim that elusive autumn Group 1 victory following his unlucky fourth to Zipping in the Australian Cup last start.

Other top chances include Phar Lap Stakes winner Tickets drawn in barrier seven and winner of the Apollo Stakes two starts back, Danleigh in barrier six.

Meanwhile reigning champion Vision and Power has had his chances of securing consecutive George Ryder Stakes success greatly improved drawing the coveted inside barrier one.
