Saturday’s 2010 Oakleigh Plate Preview
The highly anticipated Blue Diamond Stakes Day is due to take place this Saturday at Caulfield Racecourse as the next exciting meeting of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival. Aside from the $1million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes the other headline race of the day will be the $400, 000 Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m).
13 star sprinters are engaged to start in the 2010 Oakleigh Plate including four entries by leading trainer Peter Moody.
Moody has Wanted (barrier 3), Headway (barrier 4), Avenue (barrier 12) and Tickets (barrier 13) all aiming at the Group 1 win.
Wanted looks his strongest chance and is currently installed as equal favourite at $5 with the Tony Vasil-trained Lucky Secret (barrier 8) for the Oakleigh Plate.
Other fancied runners include last start Group 3 Rubiton Stakes victory Here De Angels in barrier 5 and Starspangledbanner (barrier 6), both sitting as equal second elects at $6.50.
