Graceful Anna Wins Magic Millions 3YO Trophy

Aside from the infamous Magic Millions Classic, the other highlight event of the Gold Coast?s Magic Millions Raceday last Saturday was the $1million Queensland Racing Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1400m), which was taken out by Graceful Anna in her fifth successive victory.

The David Pfieffer-trained filly Graceful Anna ($6) won by a long neck ahead of Anthony Cummings? fast-finishing Tallow ($13), with the odds-on favourite Love Conquers All ($3.30) just a nose back for third.? Stewards dismissed a protest by Love Conquers All?s jockey Darren Beadman over runner-up Tallow ridden by Corey Brown regarding an alleged interference within the last 100m and the placings stayed as they were.

Purchased as a yearling for just $38 000, the Canny Lad filly has now won $807 900 in prize money over her six career starts that included a second placing on debut followed by an impressive five straight wins.

Graceful Anna was ridden by her regular rider Peter Robl after Blake Shinn, who rode the filly to her previous-start success in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate on Boxing Day, repaid his mate for that mount with Saturday?s ride.

The winner sat on the outside of the leader to start but soon charged to the front, securing the lead on the straight and held on strong to claim a determined victory.
