2009 Crown Oaks Final Field & Barrier Draw

The third day of the spectacular Flemington Spring Carnival on Thursday will host the coveted fillies’ staying race, the Group 1 $1million Crown Oaks (2500m).

Below is the final field and barrier draw for the race due to commence at 3:00pm, including the trainer and jockey for each of the 13 acceptors.

Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup winning jockey Corey Brown will mount the Melito trained by Gerald Ryan starting from barrier six, while Bart Cummings’ Faint Perfume ridden by Michael Rodd from gate nine will start as the race favourite following her win last Saturday in the Wakeful Stakes.

And Silent Surround who ran second to Faint Perfume in the Wakeful Stakes will be ridden by Damien Oliver from barrier three.
