2009 Melbourne Cup – Updated Order of Elimination

Following the closing of this year’s $5.65 million Emirates Melbourne Cup this morning, the VRC have announced the updated elimination order for the November 3 race.

Two of the best improved horses on the list are Leica Ding and Bart Cummings-trained Dandaad due to their impressive performances in last Wednesday’s Geelong Cup (2400m).

Prior to the Geelong Cup, Leica Ding sat 65th on the order of elimination but has now been elevated to 26th position, so close to making the 24 horse field in the Flemington handicap.

Dandaad has risen to 36th from 64th after passing the first ballot clause by finishing runner-up in the Geelong Cup.
